One of those days

Hello!
Going to my sisters house to exercise throws off my food schedule I acutally eat waaay later than I usually do. I think my body is hating me for it though. You know those days when you just want to stuff your face like crazy? With anything that's unhealthy? This day was mine. I wanted everything that crossed my path, luckily I knew how to control it.

Idk if I've mention it but my family have very poor eating habits. They eat fries, KFC, frozen dinners, hot pockets, you name greasy stuff, they eat it! No wonder I'm overweight. I think I'm the only one who eats somewhat healthy (aside from my older sister who does not live with us). I remember when I was at my highest (about one yr ago, before blogworld) I decided to make better food decisions, my sister (who is one year yonger than I am) told me she felt like crying for me because I was eating a salad. That's how unhealthy they eat! I just laughed it out and didn't feel bad about it. She still tells me to this day "Omg Rosa how can you eat that? Don't you feel like crying?". I tell her I like it, which I honestly do, and that she's very lucky she can eat whatever she wants and not gain lbs (she's in her 120's). I don't care what they say about what I eat because I know I love it =D. There are times when it does get annoying and I just tell them to shut up and leave me alone.

Today my mom made hamburgers and fries, I dislike fries but today was one of those days so I wanted some so bad. Thank goodness I didnt had one. I saw the grease on those and declined.

While taking pics of my food today I discovered something. My camera freaking sucks! Seriously it takes blurry pics or maybe I don't know how to use it? I had it since I was in 12th grade, 2 yrs ago to be exact. I don't like it anymore. I apoligize for the suck-y pics.
BREAKFAST w/ no pic (@ 11am): 2 pb toast, 1 orange, 4 sliced strawberries, 1/2 c soy milk.
SNACK #1: (2:30) 1 yoplait light w granola.


SNACK #2: (4:10 had the munchies) 1 banana w/ 1 cup of soy milk.


DINNER: 1 hamburger - don't fret my friends! - I made it myself. I actually ask my mom to buy some Jennie-O's Lean Turkey Burgers and that she did. Big thanks to her. I grilled the patty, had it with some mustard, ketchup, avocado, and spinach, the bun wasn't the healthiest choice but that's all I had. On the side instead of those greasy fries I had steam veggies. I'm trying to finish them all before they go bad. The whole combo was delicious!

Two hours later I wanted to be munching on something else!
Let's call this desert: 1 nectarine, 2 sliced strawberries

Activity of the day: 10 min Jumprope and level 1 of the 30 day shred.

I give myself a pat on the back. I think I did pretty darn good for someone who wanted to devour everything on sight.

Heads up!

Hello!
Took the body shots today and let me warn you, I don't like them and it's hard to post them but will on the weekend. This should give me even more motivation.

Anyways I woke up early today and had planned to work out in the morning instead of the evening with my sister. So before I headed out I had 1 orange and hot water with lemon drops. When I got to her place we started taking the body pics and it took us forever so we only ended up doing level one of the 30 day shred. I seriously need to add some cardio in my routine asap.

besides the orange and hot water w lemon (no pics I forgot)I had:
@ 11:30: (consider this my brunch?) 1/2 c of oatmeal, 1 fuji apple, raisins ( no pic I felt awkward doing it infront of my sis)
SNACK (2:30): Nature Valley bar.

DINNER: (5:30) had zero clue on what to make so I just steamed my regular veggies and made a weird wrap - beans bell pepper and spinach. The wrap was okay but the veggies always hit the spot.


Right now I'm eating a parfait, which includes ten graps, two sliced strawberries 1/2c non-fat yogurt, and raisins while watch Gran Torino.


Project Hydrate: OMG can't believe today is the last day. Since it is I decided to finish with a bang and consumed 112 oz today. I'm really happy I decided on joining because it was fun knowing I was in a challenge for the first time ever, tracking the water I drank (I've never track my h2o), and knowing that a lot of people were doing the same thing as me :). I'm still going to continue to drink loads of water but I'm pretty sure it wont be hard as when I started. I also wont be tracking it on the blog but will make sure I drink my required amount.
A trick that I learned during the process of tracking my intake was use the same cup. In the begining I would use different cups and would have measure everytime I drank water. It got really frustrating so I just decided to stick with a 16oz glass. I use the same one over and over again during the day when I'm not at school or out (it's not the cup from above ;). I actually think I'm the only one that uses it lol.

I decided to post before I forget and go to sleep. Still watching the movie so I'm gonna go!

As Promised...

I took Pictures today!
First of all hi everyone. =D
I'm loving spring break eventhough I'm not doing anything in particular. Just like the feeling that I don't have a deadline (I do but that's until next monday so I don't have to rush it yet). Anyways back to pictures. I kept forgetting that I had to take them! I didnt take of my body only food but I will post some during this week!
Okay going onto foods of my day...
BREAKFAST: I woke up starving so I made a big breakfast. I had 1/4 cantaluope, 3 strawberries, 1/2 a Fuji apple (my favs), 1/2 c non fat cottage cheese, and 1/2 c Kashi go lean but I ended up eating only 75% of it.

SNACK: 1 orange. (no picture I forgot until I had finished it all)
LUNCH: 2 quesadillas:2 whole wheat flour tortillas, mozzerella cheese, bell peppers, mushrooms and spinach. on the side I had carrots and bell peppers.

Of course I had more carrots and bell peppers but I was munching on them while taking a pic ;).

Then I went to my sisters house and did level one of the 30 day shred.
I came home late so for
DINNER: I had steamed asparagus, broccoli and a few carrots. w 1/2 c spaghetti(i know it's bad but I was starving).
OMG taking a picture of my dinner was not an easy task. It took me forever and didnt get one single good looking pic. The lighting is horrible and i apoligize for that. My dinner tonight was not photogenic but it was tasty!


I'm doing great in the water department I had 96 oz of water today!

I think that's about it for now. I'm going to go watch 10 Things I hate about you (season premier!) now and then call it a night. I know, I'm such a girl but with good reason! Patrick Verona aka Ethan Peck is one smokin' hot guy. I think I'm in lurve.

Starting over.

Hi guys!
I mentioned that today was going to be my last day doing 30 day shred. I also mentioned that it will be until the end of this month. Well... I'm not stopping, for another 30 days that is. My family noticed the difference on my body, my older sister in particular. She's been gaining a bit of lbs and as a result been feeling down. She wants me to do it with her so she can feel a bit motivated. I'm happy of the idea because that gives me someone to do it with. I usually do it all by my lonesome, but not anymore. I feel more motivated and pumped this time around, I needed someone to join me. But this time I will be sharing before and after whole body pics. Yup I will! It's sort of exciting and also a bit intimidating but i will do it ;)

The time I did by myself (Feb/March), I did 25 days out of 30. I think that's not bad at all. I'm actually proud I continued because I usually would do it for about 12-15 days and quit for 2-3 weeks and start again to repeat the same cycle.

I started yesterday doing the shred with my sister,so technacally it's my 2nd day.

Project hydrate: I notice that I didnt update my water intake yesterday and i apoligize I did drink my regular oz. 96 to be exact. Today was 92 oz.
I can't believe we have three days left for the challenge! Time went by really quick. I'm going to continue to drink my required amount even though the challenge is over because now it's not hard for me to drink a cup. It use to be, I wouldnt even pay attn to it.

Eats of the day. (since I have spring break this week...I'm going to try to take pics of my eats during the week ;)
Today I dont have pics but i ate tasty food:
BREAKFAST: 1/2 c oatmeal, 1/2 apple, 1/2 pear, raisins, 1 tsp pb.
SNACK: 1/2 c non fat cottage cheese, 1/2 kashi go lean.
LUNCH: BIG salad! 2 handfuls of spinach, mushroom, corn, bell pepper, and tuna.
SNACK: 1 orange and dry fruit.
DINNER: 1 orange. (I wasnt hungry)

now I am and it's 11:50 so I'm going to eat 1 banana and 1 cup of soy milk.

Weigh-in # 8

Hi guys!
So sorry I didnt post yesterday. I totally forgot and by the time I was calling it a night I remembered! Im going to make it short and quick as it's 12:20 am right now. exercise has been good been doing only 30 day shred only and nothing else. There are times that I don't even want to do that but I push myself because I have to for myself. Eats been good too but yesterday for a snack I ate a browny. I know I'm suppose to quit sweets but it's so hard. I'm really addicted to chocolate. I'm trying though.
Today when I weighed myself the scale read 174.2! I lost 2.4lbs this week! eeek! I'm so happy but at the same time surprised. I'm this close to being back to my pre-holiday weight and I can't wait to be! I can't wait to pass that and be on the 160's. It's been five years since I've been in the 160's.
So much for short and quick...

I can finally breath

Hello guys!
After yesterday feeling low day, and today's test (I actually did pretty good) I feel I can finally breath. I have Spring Break, finally! I've been sort of felt overwhelmed with school lately lots of homework and tests so I'm happy I have one whole week to think about nothing but my entertainment. I don't have nothing planned for the whole week (only clean out my messy closet) but I'm super excited about that fact, having nothing to do. I'm not a big party girl, I just like to relax and go with whatever has come up. Yea, I'm such a boring girl. I'm more of go to the theater, go out to eat or shop kinda girl (with friends or sisters ofcourse), and if no one is available I like reading a book or two.

Water was good as always, 90oz. I think I actually made drinking my required oz a habit without even thinking about it.

ACTIVITY: excellent. When I woke up I did level 1 30 day shred and when I came home I did it again.

FOOD: not so great.
BREAKFAST: 1/2 c oatmeal, raisins, 1/2 of water, 1/2 c of silk milk.
SNACK: 1 orange, 1/2 fiber one.
LUNCH: 1 nature valley

After the test my sister picked me up and we went to eat to a fast food restaurant. Nothing was calling my attention and was thinking about cooking something at home but then my sister ordered a peach cobbler and that did it.
I ordered one myself ate the entire thing, which resulted with an upset stomach. I did bad. That was my dinner and haven't ate anything since.

quick post.

Hey guys!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I seriously needed a breather from everything. The the reason for the sad/frustrated feeling was that I had a test yesterday and it did not go good when I actually thought I had it in the bag. That ruined my whole day, I kept beating myself down thinking "Rosa, how could you forget that?!" because I studied hard for that test but I guess the pressure of it being worth a lot got me nervous. So I didnt feel like doing anything yesterday only watch t.v and drown in my sorrow (I know I was being a bit dramatic and now I feel dumb for it..lol). The good thing is that I ate healthy the whole day didn't eat my feeling away 'til I felt guilty and that makes me feel very proud.
Another good thing is that the professor was kind enough to let me re-take it, the bad side? I have to take it late. It's okay though I'll survive. Thinking positive always helps.
And another good thing is that I did 30 day shred in the morning!
yay! and planning on doing more later on when i get home.
drinking my H2O and feeling way better than yesterday.

Way better.

Hello everyone!
I dont have much to say today only that I did MUCH better today than yesterday.
I thnk that when i over think my day is when I mess up the most.

BREAKFAST: 1/3 cantaloupe, 2 pb and j toasts.
SNACK: 1/2 c cottage cheese, and 1/2 c kashi go lean.
LUNCH: 1 c left over lentil soup, and 1 c of yogurt parfait - 4 sliced strawberries (I'm seriuosly hooked to these babies)
DINNER: I wasnt really hungry so i went for a green monster - 1/2 banana, 3 strawberries 2 handfuls of spinach, 1 c soy milk = deliciousness!

water: 112 oz were consumed today.

activity: 20 mins cardio, no 30 day shred today. No excuse for skipping it I just wasn't feeling it. The good side is that I did an activity but extending 30 day shred to the end of the month.

Late = 2 today!

Sorry I didnt post yesterday. I wasnt planning on not posting but I fell asleep and I dont even know what time it was. I was stuffing my face with guacamole and tortilla chips while watching Dancing with the Stars and all of a sudden my whole went blank next thing you know it's morning. Seriously I wasnt planning on it but oh well.

exercise: I unintentionally skipped, (I meant to do them but time passed super fast) boo!
h2o update: drank my 90 oz. I'm doing great in the water department

food update : WARNING: it was horrible
BREAKFAST : 1 pb toast and 1 cup yogurt parfait (strawberries, plain yogurt, grapes, and granola)
SNACK: Nature's Valley granola bar.
LUNCH: turkey, spinach sandwich, and 1/2 of a small jicama.
DINNER: 1 orange, 1 cup of lentil soup
I think it wasnt enough because I had the munchies!
I stuffed my face with dried mango (so good it's hard to put down!)
then a small bag ofchips of Doritos (I know what is wrong with me!)
I forgot when but I drank 1 coffee and 1 banana
last but not least while watching DWTS guacamole and 12 tortilla chips (I made sure I counted)

I think because I skipped a snack and didnt have something other than soup and an orange for dinner

I gotta go. I WILL be posting today's eats later today. So far so good!

Interruptions...

Hello =D!
Today was a very long day but freaking fun. I woke up super early (5:30am)! That's early for me on a Sunday. I woke up extra early because I went to cheer my brother-in-law for his second marathon. It was his second time running a marathone and he freaking killed it! He finished in 3:19 that's really good to me. His first was finished at 3:30. Eleven minutes of improvement!
'nough talk about him. While I was cheering him on I was with my sister, his wife, driving around to catch him at every stop we could to take pics of him. This made us run and walk a lot. We were running from where we parked to where he was suppose to pass and parking was nowhere near those spots. I wasn't expecting to run that much today. But it was worth it, it made me want to run a race myself. I hope I do this marathon next year. If not, just a few races.
I came home around 4 and super tired but was determined to do level 1 from the 30 day shred. But I got interrupted by visit. I was very close to finishing, I had about 5 minutes to go but had to stop. Oh well. What makes me feel better is that I walked a lot today. To prove, I have a blister for wearing slip ons and my legs are killing me. So I dont feel too guilty for not finishing todays work-out.
I'm also very happy to report that I had no candy or chocolate today and I chugged on tons of water today. I lost count when I was on my 6th 16 oz water bottle but I'm positive I had more than 8 bottles (I know I'm bad for using loads of bottles but I always carry a 24 oz bottle of my own and finish it so I carry extras in the car just in case I get thirsty, which is always the case).

Now onto food:
BREAKFAST: 6:15am I knew I wasnt going to be thinking about food during the race so I ate 1 cup of oatmeal with raisins and pb. (This had me full until about 12)
snagged a bad of dried fruit and was munching on it until I got home. (GREAT replacement for sweets)
HOME at 4ish. Made my self a yogurt parfait (got the idea from Jess from Truly.Into.Fitness - 1 nectarine, 1/2 of plain non fat yogart, 4 strawberries and a handful of granola. - delicious!
DINNER: 1 cup of yesterday's spaghetti (I know), and loads of steamed broccoli and carrots.

I have to get back to doing my hw before calling it a night.

I seriously want to thank everyone who takes time to read my blog! It motivates me in staying on track (not that I did a great job today) and it helps me keep focus. I'm sorry I always ramble a lot, I can't seem to stop. =)

weigh-in # 7

hello!
Today was weigh-in and I was scared to step on the scale. I'm always scared/nervos. I worry to have a gain during the week. I know I didnt do as fantastic this week as i've done the pass couple of weeks but still managed to not go overboard with the unhealthy stuff. This week the scale read 176.6, yep a loss. Im soo happy and relieved to have lost .4 ounces. Now This was a little reality check that although I'm working out most of the week, I'm slipping in the food department. That's got to stop now rather than when I realize my pants aren't closing at all. My goal is to fit in them and will not accomplish it if I don't get strict with myself again. So starting tomorrow (not now 'cause it's late) I'm going to give up chocolate and sweets. I noticed once I get one in my mouth I can't seem to stop myself.

BREAKFAST: 1 apple, 1 nectarine, 4 strawberries, 1/2 c cottage cheese, 1/2 c total cereal.
SNACK: 1 cup of grapes, and cherries. and half an orange.
LUNCH: 1 c of progresso garden vegetable soup, 1 turkey sandwich - bell pepper, tomato, and avocado (tragically I'm out of spinach) and half of a small jicama.
DINNER: 1 mozzerella cheese, and some spaghetti. I was craving salad but like I said, I'm out of spinach I'll get my hands on some tomorrow.
'DESSERT' 1 cup of mixed fruit and a fiber 1 bar.
throughout the day I had 4 mini milky ways.


Project hydrate: Drank 102 oz.
Activity of the day: level 1 30 day shred, 20 mins of jumprope.

Sweet Rest.

Hi!
As predicted last night, I had a loooonnnnnggg sleep. I slept for eleven hours (plus the 3 hour nap I took yesterday)! I don't think thats ever happened in my life (not that I remember). I woke up this morning at 11! That felt so good.


This was me last night (but w/ clothing), no joke.

I also found my calendar! Yes! Wednesday would be my last day of the 30 day shred but because I missed two days...I'm going to push it to Sunday. Sunday because I want to complete the whole week and start fresh on Monday with another exercise routine.

My eats:
BRUNCH: 1 toast w pb&j, 1 green monster - 1 cup soy milk, 3 frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana, handful of spinach. I made a 2 eggwhite, 1 whole egg omelet (tomato, mushroom, bell pepper, and onion) but only ate half.
SNACK: 2 hardboiled egg whites and 1/8 of cantaloupe
DINNER: I split dinner into 2 because by 4:30 I was hungry and because I was home alone. I thought when my mom and siblings get home they're going to eat there not so healthy food and I would be so tempter so I decided on splitting. I didnt knw what I was going to eat but I knew my first half should be small so I ate a small salad - hanful of spinach, bell pepper and a pear. Pretty tasty I love pear in my salads.

2 1/2 hours later...
I discovered Hot Pockets in my fridge! Hot Pockets and I don't mix. You see, when there are hot pockets on hand I just don't eat one but a lot. Maybe 3 a day plus other eats. Yeah I know crazy! I was thinking and thought maybe I should do the pizza I did last time only to find out we're out of pita bread. Instead of pita I grabbed whole wheat flour tortilla, spaghetti sauce, cheese and didnt know what else to put in I saw my half of an omelet from this morning and thought maybe that should work. It did. It didnt taste like pizza but more like a breakfast burrito. Still enjoyed it though. On the side I had steamed sparagus with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese.

Hydrating challenge update: Today I did sooo much better than any day from this passed week. I consumed 124 oz!!! I notice that when I began the challenge on Monday I had to remind myself to drink h20, not anymore i don't and that's good!I also noticed that I drank 90+ (less than 95) ounces on wednesday and yesterday because I didnt do much exercise. Today that I did 40 minutes of excercise, like I promised, I drank much more. I did level 1 of 30 day shred, I was suppose to start level 3 yesterday but oh well moving it to monday, and 20 minutes of cardio.

Since I have the bag of coffee candy I've been eating them like there's no tomorrow!
I did eat less today than yesterday but still those thing are addicting! I'm not buying any of those anymore.
Tommorow is weigh in and I'm nervous to read the scale. Any loss is good.

drained.

I am totally pooped! I studied hard yesterday for the test I had today and glad to say I passed it! Yay! I got 99/100 just missed one! That's good to me, more than good, but I'm sad to say that I am totally drained.
Idk about most people but when I have a long night of studying I only sleep about four hours and wake up with an energy that I feel I can do anything. This morning I woke up 20 minutes before my usual time and felt I could get in some exercise I decided to do the Jumprope routine from youtube and I did it twice thinking that after school I would do my 30 day shred. I was sweating and happy. As the day went on my energy level started to go way down. I came home at 5:30 and soo tired I barely had enery to eat. Took a nap and just woke up (11:41pm) and still tired. I dont think I have energy to do the 30 day shred today again! I'm sooo sorry, I feel bad because my goal is to do it for 30 days straight I have miss 3 days (today 4) already, which it isnt bad but I feel I'm letting people down. I promise I will do it tomorrow and extend the days I'll be doing it. Good thing I have no school tomorrow and I did atleast 20 mins of cardio this morning.

My eats of the day weren't bad but weren't great either:
breakfast: 1/4 cantaloupe 4 strawberries, 2 hardboil egg whites.
snack: orange and fiber 1.
lunch: 1 banana, 1 cup of milk, and 1 coffee. (I know bad!)
dinner: ceviche: about 1 1/2 c (this was my first time ever trying it) it's crab meat, shrimp with cilantro, lime juice, avocado, onions, and some tortilla chips.
It was actually good but have no clue what are the nutrition facts for it.
and I also had my share of coffee candies all day 4 = 60 cals. Let's just say I had more than four.

almost forgot! water update: I'm still going strong with hydrating myself, a big part is the hot weather we're having (thanks weather!). Today I drank 92 ounces. Better than yesterday!

okay i'm going back to bed.
Im going to try to put in 1 hour of exercise tomorrow first thing when I wake up ( I have a feeling it will be a late wake up call).

Lost calendar.

Hello!
I think I misplaced my calendar. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I have my exercising planning written there. It's frustrating because I have no clue what day I'm at with the 30 day shred. Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to count them here on the blog (thank goodness for this blog!).
Speaking of 30 day shred I didnt do it today. I have a head ache and I have to study for a test tomorrow.
The water challenge is going amazing! Today I drank less then yesterday but still hit my goal. I drank 90 ounces, just perfect...=D. Water is just what I need during this very hot weather.

My eats of the day:
BREAKFAST: 1 green monster (1 cup of soy milk, 5 frozen strawberries, 2 handfuls of spinach)
SNACK: 1 orange and 1 fiber 1 bar.
LUNCH: huge salad - spinach, mushroom, bellpepper, 1 pear, cucumber, and carrots.
SNACK: 1/2 c cottage cheese, 1/2 c kashi go lean.
DINNER: 1 cup of rice, 1 c of beans, and steamed veggies. (it was originally 1/2 cup but got another serving)
"DESSERT" was a frozen fiber 1.


Have to get back to studying, wish me luck.

Loads of water and a 'quake?

It's been all over the news that there was an earthquake here in Southern California at 4:04 in the morning? I didnt feel a thing and I woke up at 4:50, thank goodness for that because I'm terrified of quakes or any natural disaster. I worry for any aftershocks especially when I'm headed out and my family is somewhere I'm not. I don't want to be alone without knowing anything about what's going on. The last time I think it's because about 2 years ago during an earthquake, it wasnt big, my phone went down so I got worried for my sister who I coudn't reach, thankfully it wasnt a big deal but I still wanted to know about her whereabouts.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Besides not realizing there was an earthquake today, I consumed 112 oz of water!!!! That's major difference from yesterday but I think because it was hot today in Cali (high 80's when it isn't even spring yet!). I'm sooo surprised by how it's easy to drink my required h2o! This challenge is so motivating and the best part is that you still can join the challenge!

BREAKFAST : 1 whole wheat toast w pb, 1 nectarine, 4 strawberries, and 2 harboil eggs (not the yulk, it's yucky)
LUNCH: 1/2 pita stuffed w/ leftover tuna, corn, cucumber, spinach, orange bell pepper, spicy mustard. and carrots on the side (i'm in love w/ carrots I use to eat 'em with a massive amount of ranch)
DINNER: 1 Turkey burger, spinach, mustard, tomato (I dont think it was bad the burger was 130 cals), 1 granola bar, 4 strawberries and carrots.
"DESSERT" - 3 egg shaped recess chocolates.
No snacks today.

I notice my days have been flying by sooo fast! I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not...

I barely had time to put in 30 minutes of exercise (10 min cardio plus 30 day shred) today, I was hoping for more but hw is taking over my evenings.

carbs and h2o overload!

Hi readers! =D
Today's eats have been a bit bad...well to be honest a lot bad! I started the day readlly great but I think I underpacked lunch and by the time I got home I was starved so I eat whatever was on my view! It was mostly carbs...it's okay though I burned off some cals not a lot like yesterday but enough for the day.
Hydrate challenge:
Boy oh boy I dont think I have ever drank so much water in a day! Maybe I have but never noticed it or measured it. Today all my water intake was written down and I made sure I reached my goal. I noticed that before exercising I'm not really thirsty but once I finish exercising and down a lot of water. My water intake of today was a total of 94 oz! I never knew I could drink that much water in a day! I'm loving this challenge so far ...=D

Now onto my eats:
BREAKFAST: green mosnter - 1 cup soy milk, 2 handfuls of spinach, 1/2 banana, 2 big strawberries. and one orange on the side
SNACK: 1 orange, 1 fiber one.
LUNCH: 1 tuan sandwich, carrots ( I didnt load it up with spinach and other vegs like I usually do, and I think that was the problem)

got home (around 4)...
1 medium size boiled potato, about 1 cup of rice and 1 c veggies (both steamed).
animal cookies (16 pieces for 140) I think I had about 2 servings maybe more...
1 1/2 cup of soy milk.
Eating carbs makes you feel stuffed and yucky! To get over that feeling I did 30 day shred and 10 min jumprope vid. I was sweating a lot and felt like a slug!

around 9 I ate a pear.

Carbs overload was not a good thing but the water was just perfect.

Eats of the day and a challenge...

I accidentally clicked pulish before even finishing the day, but i'll update as the day goes by.

BREAKFAST: 1 pear, 1 nectarine, 4 strawberries, 1/2 c of Kashi go Lean, 1/2 c of 2%cottage cheese.
SNACK: 1/2 non-fat plain yogurt.
LUNCH (like I mentioned on my prev post my mom did make pupusas) I had 2.
DINNER: another 2 pupusas.

I need to burn those greasy cals ASAP!

Also I'm super excited because I just entered my first challenge, ever. It's a fifteen day challenge and it sounds easy peacy! I just need to drink my minimum water target which is 88.5 ounces a day. Sounds like a little but I usually drink maybe 2-3 water bottles a day so this challenge is a great motivator to get me to drink more h2o! This means I'll be tracking my water intake here aswell! Carla from Carla Shorts is hosting the challenge. She also has great tips on how not to gain weight, they are really funny and informative. I love the way she writes! You should check out her blog, it's really good.

Cardio rules!

Happy Sunday everyone!
Daylight savings always mixes me up, I woke up at 8 but it was actually 9!! Does that mean I sleep less or more? I better wake up extra early because I usually am running late.
Today for a change I decided to do my exercise at 11 in the morning (I usually do it at 7 or 8 at night) and I noticed that I had a lot more energy when I was doing it. Usually I'm very tired by the time I finish 30 day Shred but today I finished it (level 1) and I felt like I did nothing. I didnt want to go outside and jumprope so I searched YouTube and found this cool jump rope routine and this really cool Bootcamp cardio routine. After the dvd, I first did the jumprope then the bootcamp and went back to the jumprope, I was sweating up a storm! I really really liked it. You can do the jumprope routine without a jumprope in the comfort of your house. I think I might give up skipping rope outside for a bit.

The day hasnt ended so I'll be posting my eats of the day later on. My mom has plan on making pupusas . Those of you who have eaten some know these babies are very greasy and delicious! She doesnt do them often so I'm not sure if i'll be getting one. I hope I don't eat a lot of them though.

Weigh-in #6 and still snuggly

Another loss! yay! Not a big one but a good one. I lost 1 lb so that brings my weight to 177.0. I can't wait to be under 175, but i'm still happy I had a loss this week. I was sort of expecting a gain because of Wednesday and not exercising yesterday so I'm thrilled!
I have jeans from when I was 172 (back in late '07) and some I'd purchased when I hit 173 (on November) they're a size 12 or 13; I was wearing them before I slowly started to gain weight (10 lbs total) from the Holidays. When I was 182 a couple of weeks ago they did not fit, I literally had to squeeze into them and hold my breathe (not that I wore them like that)and I haven't worn them since. I've been wearing lounge pants, some size 15 jeans (which I totally hate 'cause they fit me loose and I feel uncomfortable), and tights around and I'm tired of it, I mean it's comfortable but I feel like I have nothing to wear. Today I was pretty excited about being 177 so I wanted to try my size 12/13 jeans on and... they fit but they feel snuggly. I don't feel comfortable wearing them aroung yet. Five pounds do make a big difference. I'm hoping to be 172 by April 10 so I can comfortably fit into my jeans because on the 11th my niece is having a b-day celebration.

Todays eats:
BREAKFAST: 1 green monster (1 cup soy milk, 2 handfuls of spinach, 1/2 banana, 2 big strawberries) 1 toast w/ pb.
SNACK: 1 Oikos and 1 nectarine.
LUNCH: a turkey, spinach, mushroom, red bell pepper, and tomato wrap (whole wheat flour tortilla), on the side I had 1 pear and carrots.
DINEER: 1 grilled chicken fillet, 1 medium size 'baked' potato w/ cottage cheese, steam asparagus, brocolli and carrots.
Very delicious.

I did 10 minute jumprope and the level 1 30 day shred.

I might eat an orange in a bit.

Much better today.

Hi everyone! Today was a fun day, thank goodness for no school on Fridays for a couple of weeks! I went to watch "Remember me" starring Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin with my friend. I have to admit I'm a fan of Robert Pattinson because of the whole Twilight Saga but please don't think I'm a Twihard or a crazy person who stalks every move he does. I'm just a normal person who thinks he's handsome (as the other guys from the movie) but that's it nothing more. I admire him from waaaayyyy far. I waited 'til the first movie to come out on dvd to watch it. You see? I'm not that crazy or crazy at all. Well today I watched his other movie and I liked it, I didnt love it but it was good. I give it a 7 out of 10. He did a good job as did Emilie de Ravin. I might have cried towards the end...=D
You must admit he is cute...

Okay besides going out with my friend I did a pretty darn good job. I ate my normal eats and didn't eat junk. That makes me a happy camper.

Todays eats:
BREAKFAST: 1/2 c of oatmeal, 1 cup of grapes.
SNACK: 1 granola bar.
LUNCH: 1 turkey spinach and tomato sandwich, 2 carrots, 1 fuji apple.
SNACK: 1 yoplait yogurt, 1 small jicama (it was the smallest i've seen, it looked like an apple)
DINNER: 1 fish fillet in a sanwich thin : 1/8 avpcadp, iceburg lettuce, fetta cheese, and tomato, on the side i had a banana.

Today I did NOT do any exercise it's 11:00 pm and honestly I feel too tired to move (unless is to bed). I did walk A LOT though so maybe that counts? I'm feeling tired and very very sore from my arms and legs. That's what happens to you when you have years not jumping rope. Feeling sore is the icing on this day thought so that's' good! Is that sick?

Tomorrow is weigh-in and I'm SCARED to step on the scale. I feel that because I didn't do as good as I could the last two days and no exercise this day I might have a gain. But what is done is done and that's totally fine. If I have any loss I'll be thrilled!

Burning calories.

I burned a little extra calories today. I skipped rope for 20 minutes and burned about 240 cals. I know that's NOT even close to the calories I consumed yesterday but I couldnt do more, I was TIRED. I plan to add rope skipping to my routine, not everyday but maybe 3 times a week.
I really like skipping rope, I use to do it everyday with my sisters and friends. I stopped when I got to middle school and coincidentally enough that's when my weight started to creep up and really fast. I mean I've never been the thinner sister of the bunch but when I was in 7th grade I believe I was 128 (yeah, that's over weight for a 7th grade kid), at that time I was only 10 lbs heavier than my sisters! When I got to grade 9th I was 168. That's a lot weight gain in 2 years. Hopefully by bringing back rope skipping into my life I will lose more weight =).

Today's eats:
BREAKFAST: (before I had BF I drank hot water with lemon, I heard it helps flush out the bad stuff in your body) 1/2 c oatmeal - splenda (skipped the PB), 1 cup of grapes, 1 oikos honey yogurt.
SNACK: 1 fiber one
LUNCH: scrambled eggs (2 egg whites, 1 whole egg) with string beans and one corn tortilla.
DINNER: 1/2c rice and 1c beans and a hot link.
SNACK: 1/2 c fruit salad from yesterday.
(I realized the hot link and fruit salad weren't a good choice)

I watched the "Orphan" tonight (which was a good movie) and there were chips passed around and I got a few, I didnt measure it but it wasnt much, maybe a handful.

Asided from the rope skipping, I did level 1 fromt the 30 day shred. I use to feel it was too hard for me, but today I felt it easy. I did enjoy it because it was something different from the passed days. I needed that change, and i'm going to continue with level 1 for one whole week and then move on to level 3.

My friday classes are canceled until after spring break...Yes!!! Which means I go back to friday classes until April and longer weekends. I'm happy. Tomorrow my friend and I are going out so that'll be fun.
I'm hoping that before I leave I'll do 20 mins of jumprope, so I'll just have the dvd to do after I come.

I will NOT give up!

Today was a fun but stinky day. It began really good but then after school it flipped over and went down. I went to a party (a little neighbors b-day party), and you know that most kids b-day party is all about sweets and goodies not 'real' food. I wasn't planning on going but everyone in my fam went and I didnt want to stay behind. There was all kinds of goodies; crossaints, nachos, cookies, candies, cake..etc. I had everything except for cake. It was all good and I actually had a pretty good time, considering it was a kids b-day party.

Todays eats:
BREAKFAST: 1/2 cup of oats, tsp pb, 1/2 pear.
SNACK granola bar.
LUNCH (I split into 2 parts) 1/2 bagel with PB&J and 1/2 orange.
LUNCH (part 2) the other half of lunch (same exact thing but seperated in between 2.5 hours.
Got home at 3:30-4 had
headed to the party at 5:30
Had 5 oreo cookies (I counted them), 2 cups of coffee (it was super cold outside!)
1 crossaint, 1 cup fruit salad (this was not healthy at all), then time passed had another crossaint, a couple of nachos bout 3-6 (not a whole serving)
It was around 7:30 that I decided to head home or else I would still be eating! lol
and that's it.

I as time passed I was feeling stuffed and like a slob! Watched Americas Next Top Model (Naduah and Ren my fav so far!). I was still feeling sluggish after it finshed, waited about 30 more minutes to do the 30 day shred. I was really close to skipping it and just got to bed but I started thinking and reminded myself I have a goal! I WILL not allow myself to quit this time! I'm VERY close to accomplishing one goal of many. Just because I didnt think today of what I put in my mouth does not mean I'm going to do it everyday and just quit.
Yes I could've done better today, but what is done is done. The only thing to do now is to eat clean the days to come and exercise a little extra more. It actually feels GOOD to admit my mistake and take responsibility.
I'm going to TRY to burn a little extra cals with cardio (adleast skipping rope) plus the usual tomorrow.

Bad me

I really dont have anything to say just that waiting a long time to eat is super bad. That's when you eat with out thinking.

BREAKFAST: 1 whole wheat bagel 1tbsp, 1 orange.
SNACK: 1 yoplait peach yogurt with 2 tspn of oatmeal. (I seriuosly need to buy me some yoplait light)
SNACK: (I wasnt really hungry for lunch) 1 cup of frozen fat-free plain yogurt.
DINNER: (I waited awfully too long plus my sisters and their husbands came over to eat) I had 2 1/2 chicken tostadas, lettuces, sour cream and cheese.
(like I said yesterday it's awfully cold here in califonia and very windy. As a result my mom made hot chocolate and bought those sugary breads) I had 1/2 piece of bread, and 1/2 c of hot chocolate. I could have done worse but I still did bad and don't feel good about it.

I did do my 30 day shred.

A very tiring friendly day...and a craving too!

I only slept THREE hours today (or yesterday?) went to sleep at 2am and woke up at 5:15 which is late for me. I've been sleepy since I woke up, it was very hard to wake up and get up for the day. It's cold here in California. I have loads of hw that I have to turn in.
The brightside of this day is that I made a new friend today. I LOVE talking to new people and becoming friends with them. It makes me feel good and happy. =D

Moving on to todays eats.

BREAKFAST: 1/2 apple, 1/2 c oats, 1tsp pb added to boiling water. (mix all together)
SNACK: 1/2 c Jicama, 1 fiber one bar.
LUNCH: 1 spinach and turkey sandwich, 1/4 melon and 1/2 a pear.
DINNER: 1 1/2 cup of lentils with 1 whole wheat bagel with 1 tsp of cream cheese. (I know weird but I was craving both)

Food was boring today because of my lack of energy.

Somehow I did have energy (very little I must admit) to do the 30 day shred. I seriously cannot think of what day/time I'm on. I do have it written down on my calendar.

On another note...I was CRAVING chocolate (I LOVE chocolate). When I had lunch with my sister (at school) she said she was craving it too! She bought herself a sneakers at the vending machine for what I think is wayyyy too much for a regular chocolate(sorry chocolate as much as I love you I will NOT fork in $1.50 for you baby, I use to though). Good thing when she decided to buy it, it was my time to go to my next class so I skipped it at that time. But the craving would not go away! I wanted it BADLY and when I got home it was worse (I guess because I can get my hands on chocolate in a sec). My younger sister has a stash of mini chocolates so I got one from her. I got a mini sneakers. I dont feel guilty because normally I would go buy some myself and not just one but different kinds, Hersheys, Crunch, Twix and all those glorious tasting evil sweets. I somehow reasoned and convinced myself that the chocolate was becasue I needed for my energy. Which I know is not true and pure BS of my part. The chocolate didnt help much with giving me 'energy' but I loved it. I told my younger sister if later in the day I ask for one to REFUSE to giving me one, to not listen to me as much as I plea and beg her. So far I havent crave more chocolate. Thank goodness!

My bed is screaming my name. I have some sleep to catch up on.

day 13

I woke-up super late today! At 10 in the morning to be exact. I hate waking up late on weekends, I feel I have little time to do the things I have to do for the day and study (because every monday I have a test). On weekdays I wake up at 4:50 in the morning to get ready preapare and pack lunch, make breakfast, eat and leave the house by 6:30(my class begins at 7:25, but traffic is not pretty). But I have to admit I feel well rested and it feels good. Now the timing of my eats are going to be wonky. oh well.
Last night I watched Avatar and I really liked it! I know, I know, Im SUPER late watching it and getting on board with other people who watched it. At first I wasn't really interested in watching it but I heard good reviews about it and I wanted to see it myself. What counts is that I watched it right? It's nice, you should watch it if your like me that after all this time hasn't watched it. I recommend it ;)

Todays very LATE eats:
BREAKFAST 11:30 1/2 c oatmeal, 1/2 of fuji apple diced, 2 splendas, hot boiling water, mixed all together. (I usually add pb, but had none)
SANCK: 1.2 c plain yogurt, 1/2 cup of jicama
LUNCH: 1 turkey, tomato, cucumber, spinach sandwich. 1 orange, and 1 c of carrots.
SNACKS: 1 nature valley granola bar.
DINNER: (it was late and I wasnt very hungry) 1 yogurt and an orange.
(i shouldnt wake up late no more)

Exercise and eats.

Okay just fininshed 30 day shred. This is my 12th day. So tired!
By the way I've been doing level 2 since day 1. Idk but level one seems to be harder than 1 to me. Level 3 I'm just too scared to do, I did it once and it was killing me. I plan to change it to level 1 when I hit day 16 and when I hit day 22 I'm going to move on to level 3.

okay now on to my eats.
BREAKFAST: 3 eggwhite omelet; 2 mushrooms, diced tomato, onion, and spinach.
SNACK: 1 oikos honey yogurt, and 1 medium size orannge.
LUNCH: (I just eyeballed it)1c of rice, 1c of beans 1/2 cup of baby carrots.
DINNER: (exact measure) 1/2 c rice, 1 tilapia fish fillet, 1 c of veggies.
YUM!

I didnt feel good eyeballing my lunch but I was HUNGRY because I waited too long (I tend to do that a lot) and just grabbed a plate and served myself. I know I didnt go over board with it (I use the same plate everytime) but it makes me feel unsure of the amount I ate. No big deal but I'll make sure I'll never do that again until i'm sure of the measurements.

weigh-in #5

Hi! =D
Im so happy today! can you tell?
This morning I weighed myself and the scaled read 178.0lbs.
Yup! I had another loss this week. A 2.4lbs loss! Believe me when I tell you this is a BIG loss. I usually lose no more than a lb so Im happy that its big.

slowly but surely I WILL get to my goal


I think that posting my daily eats helps a lot because It makes me think before I eat crappy food (Now I put it down). I certainly don't want to lie to you and to myself by posting healthy food when in fact I've been eating crap. What good would that make? No good at all. So it's good posting it. No matter how late it is I will be posting...=D
I'm also thinking about taking pics of the food I eat. Still not sure because I don't want to make promises I can't keep. I'm mostly at school and it's kind of embarassing (to me) to take pics of food infront of ppl. I give PROPS to the people that do. Seriously that makes them super cool! Maybe I'll post some on the weekends when I'm at my house.
Another thing that I think helps a lot is staying positive. A few weeks ago I wasn't being positive at all and it only brought me gains for two whole weeks. Being negative andy doesn't help at all. Positive thinking does the mind and body good.
I know it's hard staying positive at time when you have gains (even when it's not related to weight but other personal things) but TRY. Slowly you'll be a positive thinker ;)

My two points in short are post your daily meals (although you think no one is intersted in what you put in your mouth, do it for yourself), and stay postive.

Enough rambling from my side. My eats and exercise will be posted at the end of the day.

Temptation.




What do you do when someone brings you something you love but can't take? Do you take it because you don't want to be rude or reject it? Well today I babysat my sisters' kids a 3 yr old and a 1 year old, they are a HANDFUL but I luv them. When my sister and her huband returned, they brought me McDonalds! McDonalds - a premium chicken sandwich combo! Oh goodness I was dying inside! I really < 3 it, I mean what person, who is use to eating fatty food, doesn't? It was a hard decision, I mean really hard to make, not for the fries or soda. I dont like fries unless they are chili cheese fries, and I don't like sugary drinks makes me feel sick, I ONLY drink water, green tea or natural orange juice, with pulp plz! I took the combo, but I didnt eat nothing, I split the fries between my niece and nephew.I couldnt take the sandwich, I didnt want to feel guilty after finishing that sandwich. My mom happily took the drink and the sandwich.
My sister and brother in law know that I'm trying to lose weight but I dont think they meant to tempt me, they were just being nice and I appreciate the thought.

BREAKFAST: 1 green monster: 1/2 mango, 1 1/2 handful of spinach, 1 cup of fat free milk, on the side I had my carbs, 1/2 a whole wheat bagel (65 cals) and 1 tsp fat free cream cheese (30 cals) (i put the cals because usually a bagel is very high on the cal department)

SNACK: 1 cup of total cereal, 1/2c cup of soy milk.

LUNCH: (I waited tooo long to have lunch)1 nectarine, 1 salad - 1handful of spinach, 1/2 yellow bell pepper, 2 slices of tomato, 2 sliced mushrooms, 1 pear, few slices of cucumber, left over grilled chicken from yesterday. 1 cup of rice progresso soup. Delicious.

DINNER: 1 small piece of meat [i put it back] 1 cup of rice progresso soup, 1/4 melon and handful of grapes.

I did do the 30 day shred dvd today. I was soo glad I finished!

I really wanted to go watch "Alice and Wonderland" today but my plans were cancelled. =( Maybe next time.

fFeling the burn.

Boy oh boy, I woke up feeling sore today. Feeling sore, to some people, is not a good thing (it wasnt for me a couple of years ago), but to me it's a GREAT thing. Call me crazy but after a workout I like to feel sore because I feel that's when I TRIED my hardest. 'nuff talk about soreness.

Here's todays eats:
BREAKFAST: oatmeal - 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of soy milk, 1/3 cup of plain yogurt sprinkled in some cinamon. On the side 1/2 a mango. (The oatmeal wasnt all that, it was good, but I think I should stick to my hot water and peanut butter oatmeal ;) )
SNACK: 3/4 cup of total cereal, 1 yoplait peach yogurt, (yummy but I could have saved some cals with a plain non-fat yogurt instead of the one I ate. oh well.)
LUNCH: grilled chicken sanwich - tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, spinach, avocado. on the side carrots.
note: I dont use mayo at all, instead I use mustard.
SNACK: 1 cup of grapes and 1 granola bar.

I went out and JUST got home it's 10:20 pm
I'm eating an oikos yogurt (yep my first time trying greek yogurt, and I really liked it!) w/ 1/3 c of kashi go lean while I'm typing, I was starving.
As exercise goes I haven't done it yet.

Off to watch Real Housewives of Orange County, that I set to record while i was out. I just love "reality" tv! I'm team Vicki! She's the only housewife that works her lil tush for an extravagant life. I dont see why the other housewives criticize her too much. Don't get me wrong I like the other housewives too they're pretty funny and cool. Idk about you guys but Lynne always seems out of it (in a good way).

Good day and delicious eats!

Today's been another good day, tiring but good. I fast-walked(not quite power-walk)about 2 miles in 30 mins (when I go out to run I usually do 1 in about 10 mins more or less)! It wasnt even in my plans for today but my sister decided she wanted to take a walk after school before heading home and my friend and I joined her! It felt amazing! I broked out a sweat! I got home extra tired though, I had a 5 hour sleep (due to hw and studying). I CANNOT take a nap during the day, I dont know why but as tired as I am it feels weird to me; once in a blue moon I do, but when I wake up I feel lost/disoriented...lol. I don't like that feeling at all. Has anyone else felt that way when taking a nap during the day?

Todays eats.
BRAKFAST: 6:15 green monster - 1/2 banana, 1 cup of fat-free milk, 3 frozen strawberries, 2 spoonful of plain non-fat yogurt on the side a juicy orange.

SNACK:9:50 1 nature valley granola bar.

LUNCH: 1:30 1 tuna and corn sammy, on the side carrots and cucumbers.

SNACK 4:00 1/8 of melon

DINNER: 7:00 (I was craving pizza or a hot pocket!) so I decided on making my own "pizza" 1 pita bread, about 2tbsp of Pasta sauce, 1/2 c non-fat cottage cheese mixed with spinach, 1 mushroom, 1/4 yellow bell pepper, sprinkle of cheese. Put in oven for 15 mins at 350 degrees. On the side i had 1/8 of melon

Seriuosly you guys it was super yummy, of course nothing compared to a regular pizza or hot pocket but it did the trick, and filling! I no longer have a craving for a real pizza or a hot pocket. Those carry loads of cals for a small amount and does not fill you just with one serving. I'll be making another one but w/ different ingridients in the future!

As for today's exercise, I count the 30 minute walk as exercise and the 30 day shred of course! Not doing the dvd is NOT an option for me for these 30 days (unless ofcourse I'm injured). Thanks for reading.

one ACCOMPLISHMENT...and eats of the day!

I'm on a roll w/ posting my eats =D

BREAKFAST: 1/8 of a BIG melon, 1/2 pear, handful of grapes, 1/3 c kashi go lean, 1/3c of cottage cheese. Yummy! and very filling.

LUNCH: a BIG salad (since i skipped a snack): 2 cups of spinach, 1/2 a small cucumber, carrots, 2 sliced mushrooms, 1 pear, 1/8 avocado, 1/2 pita ( I used it as a replacement for croutons), 1/3 of red bell pepper.

SNACK:1/2c plain yogurt, handful grapes, 2 sliced strawberries, 1 packet of splenda.

DINNER: I was this close to eating lasagna that my mom made (she does it so yummy but sooo greasy)! I actually served myself and was going to get a bite out of it but then thought about it and put it down (this is the FIRST time I do that)! I thought it over and opted for 1/2 cup of rice w/ veggies and a green monster- 1 cup of fat free milk, 2 strawberries, 1/2 of banana and handful of spinach.

and I JUST finished the 30 day shred dvd. So happy I did it!

A day of breakfast and a sanwich...

Blogging on a Monday? Yeah, kind of tired but I figured I should before I go hit the hay. Today was a good day food wise and exercise. I did the 30 day shred dvd (this is my 7th time -not day, I skipped saturday because my leg felt hurt - in this week!)even though I was feeling really really tired and sleepy; I pushed myself and put loud music to zone Jillian out to get it over with. It is MUCH easier and time goes by fast when listening to full blast music.
Music I listened today on my work out:
Telephone - Lady Gaga
Imma be - Black Eyed Peas
Bad influence - Pink
Fearless - Taylor Swift
Tik Tok - Ke$ha
Jump then Fall - Taylor Swift

It usually changes as I have my ipod on shuffle. I HAVE to listen to upbeat music while I'm exercising, if not, I wouldnt be able to finish!


My food was not bad but the timing was pretty wonky.
BREAKFAST: 6:20 (I woke up pretty late and I have to be out my house by 6:30) one green monster: 1 cup of soy milk, 1/2 banana, loads of spinach, 2 tbsp of non-fat yogurt.
no snack
LUNCH: 11:15 (I always try to pack my lunch to school)1 turkey, spinach, and tomato sandwich. Along with 12 baby carrots, 1/2 a medium cucumber.
I DONT classified this as a snack and if I do it was a BIG SNACK: 3:30 1 pear, 2 strawberries (sliced), handful of grapes with less than 1/2 cup cottage cheese.

by 5:45 I got hungry again!! 1 fiber one bar, handful of grapes 1/2 cup of non-fat yofurt.
DINNER: (I was craving breakfast)8:00 oatmeal: (1/2 cup dried oats, about 1 cup of boiling water, 2 packets of splenda, 1tbsp peanut butter all mixed in together) on the side 1 fuji apple.

Wasn't it wonky? I feel like all my meals (except lunch) were breakfast!
